Worship at

We understand worship to be an encounter with God where He speaks to us and we respond to His Word. We look to the Bible for the content we build our worship around and realize that it is the presence of the Spirit of God that allows worship to take place.

The preaching of the Word is the central part of the worship service at Triumph. Around that event the congregation is encouraged to celebrate God's goodness, ponder His promises, and respond to His gracious invitation to receive Him, receive His forgiveness. This response of praise and worship happens through music as well as the prayers and the reading of scripture.

The sacraments of Baptism and the Lord's Table are regularly included in the worship life of the church. We celebrate the wonders of these moments when God meets us personally with His grace.

Low Church Worship
As you first enter our church you may be surprised by what you see and hear. Why does the preacher not wear a clerical robe? Why is the ritual of the Common Service not practiced here? Why are gospel, scripture and praise songs used together with traditional hymns? Even the furniture arrangement of the pulpit and altar may seem different. Do not all Lutheran churches have the same worship service?

These striking differences, which surprise many, are all a part of a form of worship which is often referred to as a low-church worship. It is simple, informal worship, in which the preaching of the Word is the central feature. While it is true that the majority of Lutherans have practiced a more liturgical form of worship, low-church forms date back to the Reformation (and the New Testament) and were acceptable to the early Lutheran church.
