Deacon Board      Mission Statement

This caring board serves to support individuals or families who have a physical or financial need.  They will pay for food, housing assistance, rent, utilities, etc.  Almost any one-time or short term need will be considered.  The ministry assistance is done in complete confidence, and the privacy of those helped is strictly respected.

Funding comes primarily from free will offerings given by those in our congregation.  Offerings are usually taken each communion Sunday, with collection boxes at the rear of the Sanctuary.

Who to contact: Church Office at 233-4048, Pastor Ed Strom or a Board Member

Board Members: Steve Asp, Kathy Carl, Jan Kupitz, Susan Kotte, Dan Nelson, Jewell Fiskness, and Deb Vosseteig.

The following are examples of some projects that deacon board has been involved in:

1.  Visiting members who have lost loved ones approximately one year after their loss.

2.  Annual Giving Tree during the Christmas Season.
Names given to the Deacon Board are individuals we want to bless during the Christmas Season.  Note:  If there is someone who could be blessed by this ministry, contact any of the above sources.

3. Winterizing of Vehicles

Two Saturdays during the fall season are usually given to this ministry.  (Late September, early October.)

How do I get signed up?
Church Foyer:  Sign up sheets will be available for individuals wanting to assist in winterizing vehicles and for those needing their vehicles winterized.  Note:  This service is usually for those who are widowed, single parents or anyone on a limited budget.
